Alere® Medical helps people with chronic diseases manage their condition through at-home monitoring, patient education, and specialized nurse coaching. Working remotely from home, Alere’s remote nurses are responsible for the day-to-day telephonic monitoring of patients in compliance with Alere’s policies and procedures. Daily patient interactions include providing ongoing, empowering education.
WHAT ALERE WILL PROVIDE
- Alere will provide the necessary computer & phone equipment in order for you to work remotely from your home office
- Alere will reimburse for the installation of a high-speed DSL or cable modem internet connection and a dedicated phone line and monthly costs thereafter
- Training on our state-of-the-art computer and telephone system
WHAT YOU NEED TO PROVIDE
- Time to attend a three-week orientation and training session at either the nearest Alere call center or a location to be determined
- Ability to pass several competency tests which include a typing test, a disease-specific clinical test and a computer competency test (after orientation and training)
- A quiet and private space dedicated to Alere that can be locked and eliminates all household noises
- Ability to attend quarterly CEU training sessions at an associated call center
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state where the home office is located is required
- Three years of RN experience is required; telephonic nursing experience is a plus
- Comfortable using computers; experience with Microsoft Office products desirable
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills highly desirable
