Lesley A. Brown, PhD, MBA
Executive Vice President, Disease Management, Health Improvement

Ms. Brown has more than 20 years of experience in product and project management, primarily in the cardiovascular and disease management fields. Her expertise includes development and implementation of new disease management products, including in-home device monitoring, cardiovascular and respiratory programs, clinical applications and client implementations. Ms. Brown joined Alere in 2003 with a strong background in project management, research methodology, statistical analysis and cardiovascular disease pathophysiology.

Prior to joining Alere, Ms. Brown worked in the research and development arena of the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, she worked at Galileo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where she developed and managed a multi-disciplinary drug-screening group for the identification of novel therapeutics for cardiovascular and related diseases, such as heart failure, diabetes and stroke. Previously, she worked at Genentech, Inc. on a discovery project to identify and characterize novel genes, including the Natriuretic Peptide family, believed to be involved in heart failure for potential new drug targets.

Ms. Brown earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, a doctorate in pharmacology from the University of London in the United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in applied biological sciences from the University of the West of England in the United Kingdom. She has an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed journals as well as several published patents.
