Mike Newlon
Senior Vice President, Migrations, Technology Solutions

Mr. Newlon has 20 years of experience in healthcare management consulting and information technology.  His primary experience lies in the planning and management of large complex business transformation and system implementation efforts for various health care organizations, including regional and national health plans and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, regional hospital systems, third-party administrators and health and wellness organizations. 

Mr. Newlon  joined Alere in January 2007 when the company was still Matria Healthcare (acquired by Inverness Medical Innovations, Inc. in May 2008).  He served as the Vice President of Implementations, with responsibility for deploying products and services for Alere’s new and existing clients.  From May 2009 through February 2010, he served as the Senior Vice President of Product Management, focusing on the development and delivery of Alere’s enhanced clinical platform and health portal, which successfully launched in January 2010.   Mr. Newlon will now lead the transition of Alere’s book of business to its next generation products and services. 

He joined Alere from Black and Veatch, a global engineering, consulting and construction company, where he was the healthcare practice lead for the consulting division.  Previously, Mr. Newlon spent 13 years with the healthcare practice of the consulting firm, Accenture.  In both roles, he led his clients through complex system integration efforts to reduce costs and improve performance and health outcomes. 

Mr. Newlon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
