Test BinaxNOW™ Malaria je imunochromatografický test in vitro pro kvalitativní detekci antigenů Plasmodium cirkulujících v lidském vzorku žilní a kapilární plné krve s EDTA u jedinců se známkami a symptomy malarické infekce. Test cílí na antigen HRPII specifický pro Plasmodium falciparum (P.f.) a panmalarický antigen společný pro všechny čtyři druhy malárie schopné infikovat člověka – P. falciparum, P. vivax (P.v.), P. ovale (P.o.) a P. malariae (P.m.).
Jeho účelem je pomáhat při rychlé diagnostice malarických infekcí u lidí a diferenciace diagnostiky infekcí Plasmodium falciparum (P.f.) od méně virulentních malarických infekcí. Negativní výsledky je nutné potvrdit mikroskopií z nátěru/tlusté kapce.
*Pro úrovně parazitémie >5 000 (parazitů/µl). Úplnou interpretaci dat, jak byla stanovena v klinických pokusech, uvádí příbalová informace.
