Histones are a group of small basic proteins that are complexed with DNA. Antibodies to histone are present in up to 90 percent of patients with drug-induced lupus and in about 30 percent of patients with idiopathic lupus. Patients with drug-induced lupus usually have antibody to histone alone; other lupus patients usually have antibodies to DNA or a variety of ENAs.
Trinity Biotech Captia™ Histone
The Trinity Biotech Captia™ Histone Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is intended to detect and semi-quantitate antibodies to histone in a single serum specimen. The results of the assay are intended as an aid to diagnosing autoimmune disease.
