In infections caused by B-hemolytic streptococci, Streptolysin O is liberated from the bacteria stimulating production of Antistreptolysin O antibodies (ASO). The presence and level of these antibodies in a serum may reflect the nature and severity of infection.
Kit contains a positive and negative control.
In a comparison of undiluted serum specimens with the direct 1:6 dilution procedure, equivalent results on the qualitative method were obtained on 349 of the 354 specimens. The overall agreement with 99%.

- Do not use plasma. Fibrinogen can cause non-specific agglutination.
