Intestinal Inflammation
Diarrheal diseases can be classified into inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions. Determining the presence of inflammation can aid in the differential diagnosis of diarrheal illness. Intestinal inflammation is less common with viral and parasitic disease. Bacterial infections and chronic conditions like Inflammatory Bowel Disease are more typically associated with intestinal inflammation. Lactoferrin is a very stable marker of inflammation that is not degraded during infections and can be reliably detected in samples that have been stored up to two weeks.
The LEUKO EZ VUE® test is a rapid lateral flow cassette test used to detect elevated levels of lactoferrin, a marker of fecal leukocytes.
The IBD-CHEK® test is an enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) used to detect elevated levels of lactoferrin, a marker of fecal leukocytes and an indicator of intestinal inflammation.
IBD-EZ-VUE® test is a rapid lateral flow cassette test used for the qualitative detection elevated levels of lactoferrin, a marker of fecal leukocytes and an indicator of intestinal inflammation. The test yields results in 10 minutes.
The IBD-SCAN® test is a quantitative enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) used to detect elevated levels of lactoferrin, a marker of fecal leukocytes and an indicator of intestinal inflammation.
