本产品用于定量检测全血、血清和血浆中的总胆固醇、高密度脂蛋白 (HDL) 胆固醇、低密度脂蛋白 (LDL) 胆固醇、甘油三酯 (Trig)、非 HDL 和 Chol/HDL 比值，可用于诊断和治疗脂代谢紊乱。
可对以下各项进行定量测定：
胆固醇水平升高是冠状动脉心脏病、心脏病发作和中风的主要风险因素之一。随着血液胆固醇升高，心血管疾病的风险也将升高。许多患有代谢综合征之类疾病的患者同时患有其他疾病，例如高血脂和糖尿病。如果存在其他风险因素，例如吸烟、高血压或糖尿病，风险会进一步升高。
NCEP（全美胆固醇教育计划）建议每五年对健康成人（如果存在其他风险因素则应提高测量频率）和高风险的青少年进行一次脂质/胆固醇测量，并用于评估降血脂治疗的效果。
